I feel like there’s going to be a point in The Legend of Korra where, under all the pressure of the equalist movement & Amon, and probably some sort of secretly-Tarlok-influenced event where the city loses faith in her, Korra will outright snap at Mako and Bolin (or maybe Tenzin) over something, say, how “(blank) is being done for her protection”. She will have a Zuko-esque moment where she lets out all the resentment and anger she’s been building up for years about how she hates how her whole life was laid out for her as the Avatar, how every decision was made for her, how she was kept cooped up in the South Pole “for her protection”, and how all she’s ever wanted was to be “normal”. She’s a pretty rage-y kind of person, so I can see it happening. She’ll keep yelling and yelling and then she’ll probably have a “Let’s Talk To Aang” moment where he tells her “Korra, I had the same feels, *wisdom and shit*”. (And if she does this at Tenzin, he’ll probably be like “You just talked to my father, didn’t you? Jelly~”)

And then, after all that, she’ll be able to airbend, because she’s let all her problems go and is at peace with herself. Maybe she’ll come out of her Avatar Counselling Talk by going all SWOOSH with bending like a boss. 

It would be epic.
