For my next 3D design project, we have to take a pair of shoes and “transform” them, drawing inspiration from a song.
I was tied between doing a Lady Gaga or a Beyonce song. And then I remembered that they did Telephone together, which is my favourite song.
Done and done.

Born This Way - Lady Gaga
I’m not going to lie, when this came out, I went “meh”.
But I’ve listened to this about seven times in a row now. I’ve got the lyrics in front of me, and I can’t stop. It may not be as huge as Bad Romance or Telephone, but it’s the message, and that’s what’s getting me.
That, and it’s one hell of a dance track.
Lady Gaga Medley - Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider
While I was making my lunch earlier today, this song was playing from my computer, and I had it at a level that I could hear from the kitchen so I could jam while cooking my bacon. My dad went and turned it up, and was listening rather intently. When it was all over, he turned to me and said:
“Well, that’s a different version than anything I’ve ever heard”.
To which I replied:
“That’s because it’s a medley of a bunch of her songs. And it’s not sung by her. It’s sung by a guy”.
He works at a theatre, and frequently hears the same songs over and over when dance season comes around, usually whatever contemporary song is popular that year. Thus, he’s heard a lot of Gaga and Imogen Heap.
So, the lesson learned here is that my dad is incapable of identifying the difference between Lady Gaga and other male singers using their falsetto.
I really need to start watching Season 2.
Maybe I’ll start tonight!
